Samsung has expanded the Galaxy Note into a full tablet form factor after garnering unexpected success with the original Galaxy Note smartphone. Behold the Galaxy Note 10.1. It features a 10.1-inch display, a little under double that of the Galaxy Note handset, with a 1280×800 resolution, plus is packed with a 5MP camera on the back, front-facing camera for video calls, 1.4GHz Exynos quad-core processor, and 2GB of RAM. It runs on the usual suspect, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
We scored a hands-on with the tablet complete with Samsung’s S Pen stylus at CES 2013. Build quality is what you’d expect from a Samsung device — just fair. It’s pretty sleek and has a metallic border that thickens on the right and left and overall doesn’t stray too far from the design of the Galaxy Tab 10.1. It’s a tad on the heavy side and isn’t the thinnest tablet in the world either, but some might argue that’s to be expected with a 10-inch tablet.
